With a revamped design, flagship internals, speedy performance, and an attractive price, OnePlus 6T reigned supreme in 2018. And now, as the first flagship of the year, the Honor View 20 is set to launch globally on January 22 with a new design, a mighty camera, and top-end internals. But can it beat the OnePlus 6T? Let's find out.
At a glance
The OnePlus 6T sports a waterdrop notch with an edge-to-edge display and a slim bottom bezel. On the back, it has a clean, premium curved glass panel with dual cameras. In comparison, the Honor View 20 features an O-shaped cutout for the selfie camera, a slim chin, and a reflective chevron pattern on the back. Winner: Honor View 20 for the stylish look.
All about the screen
The OnePlus 6T sports a 6.41-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. On the other hand, the Honor View 20 offers a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080x2310 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Notably, the Honor flagship also has a 4.5mm screen cutout for the front camera and this design may require some 'getting used to'. Winner: OnePlus 6T.
For the shutterbugs
OnePlus 6T comes with a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 16MP (f/1.7) main sensor, paired with a 20MP (f/1.7) secondary sensor and LED flash. The Honor View 20 sports a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) Sony IMX586 sensor, paired with a 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to capture the depth details. Winner: Honor View 20 for better optics.
For the selfie lovers
Up front, the OnePlus 6T comes with a 16MP RGB sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. Further, this camera assists in Face Unlock feature as well. On the other hand, the Honor View 20 houses a 25MP (f/2.0) sensor in the 4.3mm screen hole on the top-left corner. Winner: Honor View 20 for offering more megapixels.
All the important stuff

In comparison, the Honor View 20 is powered by the all-new 7nm HiSilicon 980 chipset, coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of non-expandable internal storage. Lifeblood of your smartphone
In terms of sensors, both the phones pack all the standard gadgetry. However, OnePlus 6T features an optical in-display fingerprint sensor whereas Honor View 20 settles with the good old physical scanner mounted on the back panel. In terms of software, both the phones run their own forked versions of Android Pie. However, OnePlus' OxygenOS is smoother and gets timely updates. Winner: OnePlus 6T.
Staying connected
Both the phones support dual-SIM cards (Nano), 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802a/c (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. However, unlike OnePlus 6T, the View 20 comes with a headphone jack. Further, the Honor flagship packs a bigger 4,000mAh battery than OnePlus 6T's 3,700mAh battery. Winner: Honor View 20.
Pricing: The key factor
In India, the OnePlus 6T starts at Rs. 37,000 for the 6GB/128GB storage option. The Honor View 20, which will launch in India on January 29, starts at CNY 2,999 (Rs. 30,400) for the 6GB/128GB model in China.
How things stack up?
OnePlus 6T is no doubt great value for money. However, when pitted against the upcoming smartphones, it does seem to fall short on some parameters. Hence, with better cameras, an improved processor, and a bigger battery, the Honor View 20 is definitely a smarter choice. However, a lot would depend on its launch price. Winner: Honor View 20.
