Just recently, the mobile app of Tesla - tech mogul Elon Musk's electric car company - suffered a major outage due to some reason. The issue affected numerous Tesla owners who failed to use the program for unlocking their cars parked in different areas. According to reports, the users were logged out of their accounts and kept witnessing the problem for several minutes.
Complaints flooded Twitter in no time
As the problem triggered, Tesla owners started flooding Twitter, complaining about the issue and noting that they can't get into their vehicles. Some said the app didn't respond, while others claimed it created troubles while signing-in and gave an error message saying no cars were associated with their accounts. The issues, apparently, persisted for about two hours before Tesla issued a fix.
No word on what led to the outage
The current status of Tesla's app on Downdetector indicates that the program is working normally. However, the EV maker has neither issued a statement on the matter nor commented on what actually led to the outage. Some reports indicate this was a case of maintenance, which means the company failed to consider this problem or issue an advance warning.
Tesla cars can be unlocked with a key card
Having said that, it is worth noting here that the mobile app isn't the only way to unlock a Tesla car. It's a feature for the convenience of the users, but the main unlock mechanism is still a physical key card.
