Ahead of its unveiling, a new TECNO smartphone called the CAMON 17, has appeared in Kenya. The handset is currently up for pre-orders in the country. According to a retailer's listing, the device features a 6.55-inch 720p screen, a triple rear camera setup, a Helio G85 chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery sans fast-charging support. The TECNO CAMON 17 features a punch-hole cut-out with a prominent bottom bezel. On the rear, it offers a triple camera setup and a physical fingerprint scanner for secure biometric authentication. The handset bears a 6.55-inch display with a 720p resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has been spotted in a gray shade.
It sports a 48MP main camera
The TECNO CAMON 17 houses a triple rear camera unit comprising a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, it has an 8MP front-facing snapper.
It boots HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11
The TECNO CAMON 17 is fueled by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Under the hood, it runs on Android 11-based HiOS 7.6 and is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. The device should offer support for all the basic connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port for charging.
TECNO CAMON 17: Pricing and availability
The TECNO CAMON 17 has been listed on Kenya's online retailers, Gadgets Leo with 4GB of RAM and Masoko with 6GB of RAM. It is currently up for pre-orders at KES 22,799 (roughly Rs. 15,900) and the deliveries will start from May 4.
