TCL launches new Android TVs, price starts at Rs. 28,000
Taking on the likes of Xiaomi, Thomson, and Vu, Chinese tech giant TCL has launched a bunch of new 4K Android TVs in India at a starting price of Rs. 27,990. The new models, available in sizes ranging from 43-inches to 65-inches, arrive under the flagship P8S series, the mid-range P8E range, and the more affordable P8 series. Here's our roundup.
All models offer 4K displays with HDR 10 support
All models come with 4K displays along with HDR 10, micro dimming, and support for wide color gamut that is touted to offer a more immersive experience. As for screen sizes, the P8S series includes 65-inch and 55-inch models while the P8E series offers 55-inch, 50-inch, and 43-inch variants. Finally, the P8 series includes 43-inch, 50-inch, and 55-inch models.
TCL's new TVs run on the latest Android Pie OS
All the aforementioned TCL TVs run on the official Android TV software, with the latest Android Pie version available out-of-the-box. As part of the official platform, these TVs also offer access to the official Google Play Store which currently has over 5,000 apps including the likes of YouTube, Netflix, and Hotstar. Notably, all models come with Alexa and Google Assistant integration as well.
TCL has also introduced a bunch of AI-based features
Further, TCL has also offered a host of new AI features such as AI picture engine, and smart sound engine to enhance the viewing experience. There is also a far-field hands-free voice interaction feature which lets you control the TVs via voice commands. Lastly, all the models come with the latest connectivity options including Bluetooth support for external audio device pairing.
Pricing and availability
As far as prices are concerned, the pocket-friendly P8 series starts at Rs. 27,990 while the top-end P8S starts at Rs. 44,990. TCL has not shared the complete details regarding the availability of these TVs but some of the models are now listed on Amazon.
