TCL's massive 85-inch 4K Android TV costs Rs. 2 lakh
Expanding its portfolio of smart televisions in India, Chinese tech giant TCL has launched a new 85-inch 4K TV in the country. The premium model comes with a bright and sharp display, metal frame, top-tier internals, and latest Android TV 9 support. Alongside the flagship model, the company has also introduced special 'festive pricing' for its other TVs in the P8 series.
TCL 85P8M: At a glance
The flagship TCL television, with model number 85P8M, comes with a massive 85-inch screen with a 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels, 450nits of peak brightness, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a response time of 8ms). It also supports a 'Micro Dimming Pro' feature which should offer better contrast. It also offers HDR10 decoding, which should allow for improved brightness, contrast, and color accuracy.
Under the hood
This TCL TV is powered by an MT58CX-AU processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage for storing applications and content. In terms of audio, it packs a total of four speakers (2x10W and 1x5W) along with support for Dolby and DTS decoding. Under the hood, the TV runs Android TV 9, bringing support for Google Assistant, Play Store, and other services.

In terms of connectivity, the 85-inch TCL TV offers two USB ports, a LAN port, three HDMI ports, a cable antenna socket, SPDIF connector, an A/V-in port, and a headphone socket. It comes with a bundled remote that has a dedicated Netflix button.
Pricing and availability
The TCL 85P8M is priced at Rs. 1,99,999 and it will be available via major offline stores across India. As part of a festive offer, the company will offer the 43-inch 43P8B model at Rs. 24,990; the 50-inch 50P8E for Rs. 29,990 and the 55-inch 55P8 at Rs. 31,990. Further, the 65-inch 65P8 and 65P8E will sell for Rs. 49,990 and Rs. 51,990, respectively.
