Swiggy introduces 'Incognito Mode' for private orders: How it works
Swiggy, a leading on-demand convenience platform, has launched an innovative feature known as Incognito Mode. This new addition to the app is designed to enhance user privacy during food and quick commerce orders. The feature ensures that these transactions do not leave any trace in the user's app history, making it perfect for surprise orders or discreet purchases.
A tool for confidential ordering
Incognito Mode is available on both Swiggy Food and Instamart, offering a new level of privacy for users who wish to keep their orders confidential. This includes items such as personal wellness products on Swiggy Instamart that can now be purchased without the worry of their choices being visible to others.
Swiggy's CEO comments on the new feature
Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy's Food Marketplace, commented on the launch of Incognito Mode. He stated that despite the increasing prevalence of social interactions, there are still aspects of our lives we prefer to keep private. "Incognito Mode addresses this need by allowing users to enjoy Swiggy's diverse offerings with enhanced privacy," he added.
How to use the new feature?
Currently, Incognito Mode is accessible to 10% of Swiggy users, with plans underway to make it available to all users soon. To use this feature, users simply need to select the Incognito Mode option in their cart. A confirmation reminder will then appear to verify that the mode is active for their account.
Incognito mode ensures post-delivery privacy
Orders placed using Incognito Mode will remain trackable for up to three hours after delivery. After this period, they will be discreetly removed from the order history, ensuring complete privacy for users. This feature further enhances the confidentiality aspect of Swiggy's new mode, providing users with an additional layer of security in their transactions.
