Google Assistant is the most accurate smart digital assistant
What's the story
Two studies have been released last week that point towards Google Assistant being the most accurate voice-enabled digital assistant of all.
The first report, from Stone Temple, is a follow-up update to a similar 2017 digital personal assistants study that compares them in terms of accuracy and answer volume.
The second study, from ROAST, only analyzes Google Assistant in no less than 22 verticals.
Data
Study 1
The Stone Temple report compares Alexa, Cortana, Siri, and Google Assistant in over 5,000 different queries.
Google Assistant (on smartphone) topped by answering over 90% of all questions, with an accuracy rate almost touching 80%.
However, Google Assistant (on Home) answered about 85% of all questions, with an accuracy rate of about 65%.
Cortana came in the second place followed by Alexa and Siri.
Stats
Alexa is the most improved virtual assistant
Amazon's Alexa saw a huge improvement from last year. Where earlier it could only answer around 50% of questions, that figure has now increased to over 80%.
Other personal assistants also saw an increase in the number of attempted answers, with Microsoft's Cortana going from 53.9% to 64.5% and Apple's Siri from 31.4% to 40.7%.
Siri came last with just a 40% accuracy rate.

Study 2
The ROAST study put Google Assistant to test with 10,000 questions in 22 verticals like hotels, restaurants, education, automotive, real estate, and travel.
It was able to answer about 45% of all questions.
'Restaurants' emerged as the category with the highest response percentage, while 'transport' had the lowest percentage of correctly answered queries.
