How to use WhatsApp 'Chat Filters' for streamlined conversations
Finding the appropriate WhatsApp conversation can be challenging at times, especially when all the chats are grouped within a single 'Chats' section. Thankfully, WhatsApp has recently implemented a new feature called 'Chat Filters,' allowing users to quickly locate the desired chat immediately upon opening the app. Here's how you can use 'Chat Filters' and seamlessly navigate through conversations. The feature is being rolled out to users on Android, iOS, and the web.
How to use the new feature?
WhatsApp's 'Chat Filters' feature categorizes chats into three pre-set groups: All, Unread, and Groups. Users can conveniently access these filters at the top of their chat list. To utilize a chat filter, users simply tap on their preferred category. Once a filter is selected, it remains active until another filter is chosen or the app is closed and reopened. You can also swipe left or right to alternate between different filters.
Understanding the functionality of chat filters
The 'All' filter displays all chats and conversations, while the 'Unread' filter reveals chats that are yet to be opened or responded to. The 'Groups' filter includes group chats and Community subgroups that a user belongs to.
