How to reset your UPI PIN using BHIM app
The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has revolutionized digital transactions, providing ease and convenience. However, to protect your funds from unauthorized transactions, maintaining the security of your UPI PIN is crucial. With the surge in cybercrime, regularly updating your pin has become an effective security measure. Thankfully, apps like BHIM UPI have made this process user-friendly. Here's how to reset your UPI PIN using BHIM UPI.
What are the prerequisites?
Before initiating the process of resetting your UPI PIN using the BHIM UPI app, certain prerequisites must be met. Users need to have the last six digits of their debit card and its expiration date handy. Additionally, their existing mobile number must be linked with their bank account. These requirements ensure a smooth and secure transition to a new UPI PIN.
Step-by-step guide to reset PIN
Resetting your UPI PIN using the BHIM UPI app involves a seven-step process. Users must first access the BHIM UPI app on their mobile device, then navigate to "Bank account" in the menu. The next step is to select the "Reset UPI PIN" option. After this, users need to provide the last six digits and expiration date of their debit card, which initiates the setup of a new UPI PIN.
Completing the process
Once the setup for a new UPI PIN is initiated, the bank sends a one-time password (OTP) to the user's registered mobile number. This OTP is automatically detected by the app. Users then need to input their newly desired UPI PIN and confirm it as prompted to complete the process. This reset ultimately enhances security across digital payment platforms like Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm among others.
