Knowing how to activate your Universal Account Number (UAN) online, is crucial for efficient management of your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) account. The UAN serves as a unique identifier for EPF transactions, and can be activated through the EPFO Member Portal or the Umang App. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to activate your UAN online. Activating UAN through the EPFO member portal
To activate your UAN online, begin by visiting the EPFO member portal and logging in using your UAN, password, as well as captcha code. Once logged in, navigate to the 'Manage' tab and select 'Activate UAN' from the dropdown menu. You will then be prompted to enter your UAN, Aadhaar, member ID, PAN, or other necessary details as per the provided guidelines.
Finalizing activation via OTP verification
After entering the necessary details, click on 'Get Authorization PIN' to receive a One Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number, linked with Aadhaar. Input the received OTP and click on 'Validate OTP and Activate UAN.' Upon successful activation of your UAN, you will get a confirmation message. This completes the process of activating your UAN through the EPFO Member Portal.
Activating UAN through the UMANG app
To activate your UAN using the Umang App, open the app and log into your online account. Type 'EPFO' into the search bar located at the top and initiate a search. Navigate through the available menu and select 'UAN activation' from the options provided. You will then need to input your personal details such as UAN, name, date of birth (DOB), mobile number, and email address to complete this process.
Required documents
The documents needed for UAN activation include an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, proof of identity/address, and bank account information including your IFSC code. After completing the process on the Umang App, you will receive a password on the registered mobile number. These documents are essential to ensure a smooth and successful activation of your UAN.
