Sony releases Android Pie update for Xperia XZ2 Premium
After releasing Android Pie for Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Sony Xperia XZ1, and Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, the company has started rolling-out the update for the Sony Xperia XZ2. This update will introduce a bunch of new features including an improved camera app, HDR enhancements and Android security patch for November. Earlier, Sony announced Android Pie update for these Xperia phones
Back in August, Sony announced that Android Pie update will be rolled out to nine Sony Xperia smartphones. Previously, Sony had rolled out the update for its Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones, followed by Xperia XZ Premium, XZ1, and XZ1 Compact. Meanwhile, the company has also confirmed that Xperia XA2, XA2 Plus, and Xperia XA2 Ultra will get the update early next year.
What's new in the update?
The Android Pie update for XZ2 Premium has the build number 52.0.A.3.84. It comes with features such as a new camera app interface, HDR upgrades, and several other features of Android Pie. Further, the update brings Android security patch for November 2018. Notably, Sony has not yet adopted Android Pie's gesture navigation and is expected to bring it in a future update.
Meanwhile, here's a look at Sony XZ2 Premium
Launched back in April 2018, the Sony XZ2 Premium sports a 5.8-inch 4K (2160x3840 pixels) Triluminous display with HDR, X-Reality mobile engine and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Further, it supports dual-SIMs (Nano) and packs a 3,540mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging.
Camera specifications of XZ2 Premium
The XZ2 Premium sports a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 19MP (f/1.8) Exmor RS sensor and a 12MP (f/1.6) monochrome sensor. The primary camera also gets a dedicated Bionz mobile image-processing engine and Aube fusion image signal processor. Up front, the phone offers a 13MP (f/2.0) sensor with a 22mm wide-angle lens and five-axis image stabilization.
