Sony PS5 hardware specs revealed: Better than Xbox Series X?
Just a day after Microsoft announced the technical specifications of its Xbox Series X, Sony has now revealed the specifications and hardware details of the PlayStation 5, its next-generation gaming console. The PS5 will come with a custom-made AMD CPU, high-end graphics card, faster SSD storage, and support for both 4K and 8K gaming at 120fps. Here are the finer details.

The PS5 will be powered by a custom-built octa-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.5GHz (variable frequency) and a bespoke AMD RDNA 2 GPU that boasts of 10.28 teraflops and 36 compute units clocked at 2.23GHz (also variable frequency). The combination will be aided by 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and a custom 825GB SSD that is touted to offer super-fast loading times.

According to Mark Cerny, Sony Playstation's hardware head, the PS5's SSD can load 5GB of data in a single second. In comparison, the PS4 takes around 20 seconds to load 1GB of data.
It will support up to 8K gaming at 120Hz
Sony has also announced that the new console will support 4K as well as 8K game streaming at 120 frames per second. Moreover, it will also come with "3D audio" for more immersive sound and an optional low power consumption mode. It will support USB hard drives for backward compatibility with PS4 titles and 4K Blu-ray drive.

Like the PS5, the Xbox Series X will also be powered by an octa-core AMD Zen 2 CPU, clocked at up to 3.8GHz. This processor will be aided by a custom RDNA 2-class GPU with 12 teraflops of power and 52 compute units clocked at 1.82GHz each. Under the hood, it will pack 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and 1TB of NVME SSD drive.
