Sony Bravia A8F Series Android TVs launched in India
As the latest additions to its Bravia OLED range of TVs, Sony has launched the A8F series smart TVs in the country. The all-new A8F series was first showcased at CES 2018 in January and includes 55-inch and 65-inch models. The TVs feature Sony's proprietary OLED panels and offer 4K HDR picture quality, along with Android TV support. Here's a sneak peek.
Sony Bravia A8F series is designed for pure acoustics
Both the 55-inch and 65-inch models feature an Acoustic Surface technology, on top of Sony's One Slate design, to enable the thin-bezel screen to produce sound. Sony has also provided an integrated subwoofer on the rear panel for deep bass. The TVs also support HDR 10, Hybrid Log-Gamma and will get Dolby Vision support through a future software update. Further, the remote controller has dedicated buttons for Netflix and Google Play.
Sony's proprietary OLED panels and 4K X-Reality Pro engine
The Bravia A8F series comes with Sony's Triluminos OLED Display along with 4K X-Reality Pro engine that uses an algorithm to enhance content. The TVs also get 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme that enables 4K HDR via object-based HDR remaster, super bit mapping 4K HDR, and dual database processing. Both models run Android TV (v7.0) with Google Play access and come with built-in Chromecast.
Price and Availability
The Sony Bravia A8F 55-inch model is priced at Rs. 3,29,900, while the 65-inch model is available at a price tag of Rs. 4,49,900. Notably, both Bravia A8F models are available for purchase via Sony Center stores and major electronics retailers across India.
