Snapchat will soon let you edit sent messages
Snapchat is preparing to launch a range of new features, including the ability to edit sent messages. This feature will allow users to correct typos or other errors in their messages after they've been sent. However, there are limitations. Edits can only be made within five minutes of sending the message and only if the recipient hasn't opened it yet.
Message editing trend gains momentum in messaging apps
The trend of editing messages post-delivery is gaining popularity in the messaging app world. Over the past year, platforms such as Meta's Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp have all introduced similar features. Apple has also joined this trend with iOS 16, and Google might be the next to follow suit. Snapchat's edit message feature will initially be exclusive to Snapchat Plus subscribers.
Snapchat launches AI-driven features and emoji reactions
Snapchat is also introducing new AI-driven features, including a reminders function that remembers important deadlines and sets up countdowns. Users can design custom outfits for their Bitmoji using AI technology. Additionally, the new AI Lenses will allow users to create a retro '90s Polaroid-style version of themselves with just a selfie. The platform is also integrating emoji reactions, enabling users to respond to messages with emojis and react to friends' location shares on Snap Map.
