Smartron launches hybrid laptop in India, starts at Rs. 42,990
Indian electronics manufacturer Smartron has launched the next generation of its hybrid laptop - the Smartron tbook flex. Based on Windows 10, the laptop-cum-tablet has the ability to flex up to 150-degrees. Priced at Rs. 42,990 and Rs. 52,990 for the Core m3 and Core i5 version respectively, the hybrid notebook will be sold exclusively via Flipkart, starting May 13. Here's more.
Smartron tbook flex includes fingerprint scanner and stylus support
The upgraded Smartron tbook flex features a lightweight aluminum and magnesium body. The notebook now includes a fingerprint scanner while its capacitive-touch display gets support for a stylus. Moreover, the laptop also comes with a Bluetooth-enabled backlit keyboard that is detachable and lets you to type in low light environments. The tbook flex comes in two color options - Orange/Grey and Black/Grey.
The notebook sports a 12.2-inch touch display, packs 4G RAM
The tbook flex sports a 12.2-inch WQXGA (2560x1600 pixels) IPS multi-touch display with an aspect ratio of 16:10, and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. In terms of processors, you get two options - Intel Core m3-7Y30 processor, and Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor. The device also packs 4GB LPDDR3 RAM, Intel HD Graphics 615, a 128GB SSD storage, a 5-MP rear camera, and 2-MP front shooter.
The Smartron tbook flex comes with USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3
Connectivity options on the notebook include two USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port for charging and up to 40Gbps data transfer, a 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD card slot, magnetic pin for keyboard support, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth 4.0.
The notebook runs hybrid-version of Windows 10
In terms of software, the two-in-one laptop runs Windows 10 that has been tailored for hybrid devices and automatically switches between laptop and tablet mode. It packs a 40Whr Lithium-ion Polymer battery, along with Hall and Accelerometer sensors, front-facing speakers, and dual mics. The notebook weighs 950g, (1.37kg including keyboard) and measures at 307.5 x 202.8 x 9.0 mm in the tablet form.
