Slack can now generate transcripts from huddles using AI
Salesforce has introduced new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to its business-centric chat application, Slack. The primary feature of this update is the "Slack AI huddle notes," designed to record crucial points and tasks from discussions. When invited to a huddle, Slack AI generates a transcript using real-time audio and messages from the thread. It can also compile notes with references, tasks, and files shared on a canvas.
Resemblance to past update
The AI features allows all participants to access these notes later, even if they were unable to attend the meeting. The latest facilities appears to be an enhanced version of an existing Slack AI tool, that summarizes channel highlights and thread content with a single click.
Slack enhances AI search and introduces workflow builder
In addition to huddle notes, Slack has improved its AI search feature. It can now provide unique results for a user, based on files and apps they have uploaded on Slack. This includes canvases, clip transcripts, documents from linked apps, Google files, and more. The company has also launched an AI Workflow Builder to automate tasks without requiring any programming skills from the user.
Slack templates and availability of new features
The latest update from Salesforce also includes pre-set Slack templates for specific scenarios such as project management, feedback collection, and help request triage. These new AI features are now available as a paid add-on for all subscription plans. However, the company has announced that Slack templates will be rolled out in October 2024. The introduction of these features is part of Salesforce's ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and productivity on its platform.
