Slack's AI capabilities now accessible to all premium users
Slack, the popular communication platform, has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to all its paying subscribers. Previously, these features were only available to a select group of users. The enhanced AI capabilities include auto-generated channel summaries that provide users with key points from discussions they may have missed. The algorithm is designed to extract content from a variety of topics discussed within a channel.
Slack's AI capabilities extend to thread summaries
In addition to channel summaries, Slack's AI capabilities now also offer similar functionality for threads. Threads, which are smaller conversations between one or a few people, can be condensed into a brief summary by the tool. This feature allows subscribers to quickly grasp the essence of smaller discussions without having to read through entire conversations. Subscribers also have the option to receive a daily recap for any channel or thread each morning.
Slack introduces Conversational Search feature
Slack has introduced a new feature known as Conversational Search. It allows users to ask questions in everyday language, with the algorithm conducting the search. The tool proves particularly beneficial given the extensive nature of Slack channels and the challenges users may face when trying to find specific conversations. The AI capabilities are not limited to English speakers, as Slack has also rolled out support for Japanese and Spanish languages.
Slack plans integration with third-party apps
Looking ahead, Slack plans to incorporate some of its most frequently utilized third-party apps into its AI ecosystem. This move is aimed at enhancing the functionality and user experience of the platform. An upcoming integration with Salesforce's Einstein Copilot, a popular AI tool, is anticipated in the near future. This development signifies Slack's commitment to continuously improve and expand its AI capabilities for the benefit of its subscribers.
