Samsung's next foldable phone could feature a Motorola RAZR-like design
Though Samsung didn't have a perfect start with the Galaxy Fold, it is surely not giving up on its foldable dreams. Just weeks after re-launching the fixed version of the Fold, the company is now working on a new foldable device. Interestingly, the support page of an alleged foldable phone has been spotted on Samsung's Africa website, hinting at an imminent launch.
Samsung's next foldable phone to bear model number SM-F700F?
The support page, which has now been pulled down, mentions the presence of a Samsung smartphone bearing model number SM-F700F. Now, this number is likely to be a part of the foldable series, considering it is in line with Galaxy Fold's original model number of SM-F900F. So, is it a Galaxy Fold 2 or an altogether different foldable phone? Well, we don't know yet.
Samsung's SM-F700F will be a Motorola RAZR-like vertically-folding phone
According to rumors, Samsung's SM-F700F will feature a clamshell-like form-factor - similar to the recently-launched $1,500 worth Motorola RAZR. The rumors seem credible if we go by Bloomberg's report from March this year. Back then, the publication claimed that Samsung was working on two different foldable phones including a vertically-folding device that is planned to be released in late 2019 or in early 2020.
Concept renders reveal an Infinity O-like flexible screen
Further, according to concept renders, which are largely based on rumors, Samsung's upcoming foldable phone will feature an Infinity O-like flexible OLED screen on the inside. This Note 10-like punch-hole design will allow Samsung to house a front-facing camera. Moreover, the phone should also bear a smaller, secondary screen on the outside for checking notifications, music controls, and other functions.
When will this folding phone launch?
According to reports, this folding smartphone is codenamed as Bloom and it could go official sometime early next year after the Galaxy S11 series, which is set to be launched around mid-February.
