Samsung quietly launched the Galaxy J7 Prime 2 in India
In a rather quiet move, Samsung has launched the successor to the Galaxy J7 Prime smartphone in India - the Galaxy J7 Prime 2. The J7 Prime 2 features an Octa-core Exynos 7 Series processor and sports a 13-megapixel selfie shooter. The phone, priced at Rs. 13,990, has been listed on Samsung India site but with a "sold out" tag along with it.
At a glance
In terms of design, the Galaxy J7 Prime 2 isn't much different from its predecessor. The single-SIM (Nano) smartphone sports a 5.50-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) TFT display with a fingerprint scanner and navigation buttons placed below the display. The phone features a metal unibody design along with Gorilla Glass protection on the front and also supports Full-HD video playback at 60fps.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 sports a rear 13-megapixel primary camera with f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, you get a 13-megapixel shooter with f/1.9 aperture. Samsung has also introduced 'social camera' which brings some cool features like live stickers and filters, along with an instant edit and share option.
Samsung J7 Prime 2 gets Samsung Pay and Mall features
The smartphone, running on Android Nougat, also includes features like Samsung Pay Mini and Samsung Mall. With Samsung Pay Mini, you can make payments through your phone and with Samsung Mall, you can click photos of any product and search them across several shopping sites.

The J7 Prime 2 is powered by an Octa-core Exynos 7 Series processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. In terms of connectivity and sensors, you get Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, headphone jack, 4G/3G support, accelerometer and proximity sensor. Also, the smartphone is fuelled by 3,300mAh battery.
