Samsung launches three new flagship devices in India
Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S6 along with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 4G in India. The former two were unveiled in August this year, while the latter is arriving in the country after an year of its global unveiling. Meanwhile, all the three devices will go on sale starting today through leading online and offline sales channels. Here's more.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6: At a glance
The Galaxy Tab S6 comes with a conventional rectangular design with sizeable bezels surrounding the screen. On the rear, the metallic panel houses an S Pen slot wherein the stylus (comes with the tablet) sticks magnetically and charges itself wirelessly. Further, the tablet offers a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a full-HD+ (1600x2560 pixels) resolution and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
What's the camera like on Galaxy Tab S6
In terms of optics, the Galaxy Tab S6 houses dual rear cameras comprising a 13MP (f/2.0) primary sensor and a 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor. The main camera supports HDR, panorama, portrait mode, and can record 4K videos at 30fps. On the front, the tablet houses an 8MP (f/2.0) snapper for selfies and video calling.
Under the hood
The Galaxy Tab S6 is powered by flagship grade Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Under the hood, it runs Android Pie-based One UI and packs a 7,040mAh battery with 15W fast-charging technology. Also, the tablet comes with support for DeX mode, using which it doubles up as a conventional PC.
Connectivity and media options
The Galaxy Tab S6 supports latest connectivity options including dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and Type-C port. It also houses four AKG-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology but misses out on a headphone jack.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2: Can track around 40 workouts
Samsung has also launched two watches. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with touch-sensitive rotating bezels. It is powered by Exynos 9110 chipset, paired with upto 1.5GB RAM, 4GB storage, and offers two days of battery life. The IP68-rated watch packs all standard sensors and can track over 39 workouts. It is offered in aluminium or stainless steel case variants.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G: Comes with e-SIM support
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 4G is offered in 1.3-inch or 1.2-inch AMOLED displays with 360x360 pixels resolution. The watch packs Exynos 9110 chipset, 1.5GB RAM, 4GB storage, and comes with e-SIM support (compatible with Reliance Jio and Airtel). Apart from tracking workouts, it can also track sleep and can be used for stress management as well.
Finally, what about pricing and availability?
The Galaxy Tab S6 is priced at Rs. 59,990 whereas the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 4G start at Rs. 26,990 and Rs. 28,490, respectively. Notably, all the three devices will be available starting today via major online and offline sales channels.
