Samsung launches 128GB variant of Galaxy S9, S9+ in India
About three weeks after Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones in India, the company has launched a 128GB variant of the two models as well. Until now, the Samsung Galaxy S9 duo was only available in 64GB and 256GB storage options in the country. It'll be available in three colors options of Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple.
Galaxy S9 128GB to cost Rs. 61,900
The 128GB variant of the Galaxy S9 will cost Rs. 61,900 and of the Galaxy S9+ will be priced at Rs. 68,900. For comparison, the Galaxy S9 64GB costs Rs. 57,900, the Galaxy S9 256GB costs Rs. 65,900, the Galaxy S9+ 64GB costs Rs. 64,900, and the Galaxy S9+ 256GB costs Rs. 72,900. The new models are expected to start retailing from this week.
Galaxy S9 duo has a dual aperture camera
The USP of the Galaxy S9 duo is its dual aperture camera, which can shoot at f/2.4 when there's ample lighting, but switches to f/1.5 in low-light conditions. The smartphones also have a super slow-mo camera that's capable of recording 960 frames per second. The other headline feature is AR Emoji that allows users to project their facial expressions onto emojis.
The smartphones feature Intelligent Scan, Bixby-powered live translation
The smartphones' camera app features Bixby Vision, which offers live translation, scene and building recognition, and a calorie counter. The Galaxy S9 duo has 8MP front camera. They are powered by the 1.7GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 9810 processor and run the Android 8.0 OS. The phones have an Intelligent Scan feature that combines Iris scanner and facial recognition technology.
Some differences in the specs of S9 and S9+
The Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, 4GB of RAM, a 3,000mAh non-removable battery, and a 12MP primary camera. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ packs a 6.2-inch AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, a 3,500mAh battery, a dual rear camera setup with 12MP+12MP sensors.
