Samsung's foldable phone launched in India at Rs. 1.1 lakh
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip foldable phone, which was unveiled alongside the Galaxy S20 series, has been officially launched in India today. The handset is priced at Rs. 1,09,999, and will be available for pre-ordering starting tomorrow via Samsung e-store and select offline retailers. The Z Flip comes with a clamshell-like design, folding glass screen, freestop folding hinge, top-tier hardware, and dedicated software.
Shipping will start from February 26
The Galaxy Z Flip costs Rs. 1,09,999 for the solo 8GB/256GB configuration and can be picked up in Mirror Black, Mirror Purple, and Mirror Gold colors. The pre-orders will open from tomorrow, and Samsung will start shipping the handset from February 26 onwards. Buyers will also get a free cover for the Z Flip and AKG-tuned Type-C wired headphones bundled in the box.
Meanwhile, here's recalling the Galaxy Z Flip
The Z Flip features a flexible 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1080x2636 pixels) AMOLED panel that is protected by an ultra-thin glass. On the outside, you have a tiny 1.1-inch Super AMOLED display to see notifications when the phone is closed. The hinge also uses a "Freestop folding technology" that allows you to open the handset at various angles for a number of use cases.
The phone offers a total of three cameras
On the outside, the Z Flip has a dual-lens camera that includes a 12MP (f/1.8) main sensor and a 12MP (f/2.2, 123-degree FoV) ultra-wide-angle lens. The setup is touted to support 4K video recording at up to 60fps as well as HDR10+ recording. On the front, the phone sports a 10MP (f/2.4) camera for selfies and video calls.
Under the hood
The Galaxy Z Flip is powered by last year's high-performance Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. Under the hood, it packs a couple of batteries to offer a combined capacity of 3,310mAh and runs on a tweaked version of Android 10. The handset supports 15W fast charging, wireless charging, and has a side-mounted physical fingerprint reader.
