Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 could be Android's own iPad Pro
While we do have a bunch of Android-based tablets, there's really nothing that can take on Apple's flagship tablet, the iPad Pro. However, Samsung is looking to change the equation with the sequel to its Galaxy Tab S5E. Dubbed as Galaxy Tab S6, the upcoming tablet is tipped to offer flagship internals, an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual rear-cameras, and an S Pen. Here's more.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 tipped to feature a 10.5-inch screen
Up front, the Tab S6 is likely to retain the design of its predecessor with proportional bezels on all sides and a metallic chassis. However, the rear panel is said to house a dual-lens camera and an S Pen slot where it'll attach magnetically and charge wirelessly. We also expect a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution- same as the Galaxy Tab SE5.
Tab S6: First tablet to feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor
Separately, 91Mobiles claims that the Galaxy Tab S6 will be the world's first tablet to ship with an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, it remains to be seen if Samsung will use an optical reader or an ultrasonic sensor which debuted on the Galaxy S10 series.
Tab S6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset
According to leaks, the Galaxy Tab S6 will be powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage. The rear camera setup is said to comprise a 13MP primary sensor and a 5MP ultra-wide sensor. For selfies, there will be an 8MP front-facing camera. Lastly, AKG-tuned stereo speakers and 15-hours battery life are also on the cards.
When will Samsung announce Galaxy Tab S6?
Presently, there's no information on when Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy Tab S6. However, given the device has recently been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, we can expect it to go official sometime soon. But if we had to give you a date, we think Samsung might unveil the new tablet alongside the Galaxy Note 10 on August 7. But that's mere conjecture.
