Galaxy S9, S9+ rumored specs and features
The latest whispers suggest Samsung Galaxy S9 would sport a 5.8-inch Infinity Display. Galaxy S9+ is expected to come with a 6.2-inch display and a bigger battery. They would have a 12MP front camera and 16MP dual rear cameras Samsung may implement 3D-sensing facial-recognition and is likely to go with a rear-mounted fingerprint-scanner. Both the devices would be IP65/68-certified (water and dust resistant).
Fingerprint sensor placement
The same leak revealed Samsung is working on two prototypes of Galaxy S9. One with a front-facing fingerprint sensor embedded in the display and the other with a fingerprint scanner on the back. However, another source says Samsung wouldn't integrate the sensor into display.
Two areas where Samsung could "greatly improve"
Meanwhile, Ice universe -a Chinese leaker who revealed the first real Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 designs- tweeted the "back of the Galaxy S9 will change a lot." Firstly, the fingerprint-sensor could be moved to the panel's center, making it easy to reach. Secondly, it could use a back panel made of aluminum and glass for better durability and wireless charging support.
Dual cameras on the back
Ice universe's tweet also suggests S9's rear design may change with the addition of a dual-camera setup, similar to Galaxy Note 8. Samsung is likely to include it with "dual camera" pressure from other device makers like Apple, Google Pixel, LG and Huawei.
Here is some good and bad news!
Ice universe, in a series of tweets, revealed some good and bad news. The good news is, Galaxy S9 may retain the headphone jack, unlike its rivals who ditched it. Sadly, however, the leaker is "100% sure" that Samsung will miss out on the in-display fingerprint recognition, which explains the massive changes in the S9's rear design to include a fingerprint sensor.
