Samsung Galaxy S22 series tipped to debut at Rs. 70,000
Samsung is expected to launch its flagship Galaxy S22 series of smartphones in India soon. In the latest development, prices of the vanilla S22 and S22 Ultra have been tipped. The S22 will reportedly start at Rs. 69,900, while the S22 Ultra will begin at Rs. 1,09,900. The handsets are expected to be available for purchase in the country from March 11.

The Galaxy S22 series was announced globally on February 9 and is nearing its launch in India. Although the company is yet to announce the timeline, the premium smartphones are likely to debut later this month or early March. The leaked prices of the S22 and S22 Ultra are similar to the last-generation models. Therefore, we can expect the S22+ to be priced similarly.
The handsets feature a 120Hz display
The Galaxy S22 series has a punch-hole cut-out on the top-center, slim bezels, an IP68-rating for dust and water resistance, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The S22 and S22+ sport a 6.1-inch and 6.55-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen, while the S22 Ultra gets a 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED display. They offer up to 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The S22 Ultra supports S Pen.
The Galaxy S22 has a 50MP main camera
The Galaxy S22 and S22+ have a triple rear camera system, including a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto snapper. On the front, they have a 10MP selfie shooter. The S22 Ultra packs a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and two 10MP telephoto cameras with 10x optical zoom. Up front, it gets a 40MP camera for selfies.
The S22 Ultra houses a 5,000mAh battery
The Galaxy S22 series is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/Exynos 2200 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage (depending on the region). The devices boot Android 12-based One UI 4.1. The S22 packs a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast-charging support, whereas the S22+ and S22 Ultra house 4,500mAh and 5,000mAh batteries, respectively, with 45W fast-charging.
Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra: Pricing and availability
In India, the Galaxy S22 is tipped to start at Rs. 69,900, while the S22 Ultra may begin from Rs. 1,09,900. The handsets can be pre-booked till February 21 via Samsung e-store. The S22 will be offered in Black, White, and Green colors, whereas the S22 Ultra will be available in Phantom Black and Phantom White color options in India.
