    What's the story

Samsung has introduced a special Olympic Games edition for its recently-launched flagship smartphone, the S20+ 5G.

The commemorative model retains the design and hardware of the standard model while sporting a new matte-gold finish, the Olympic Games logo, and the 'Tokyo 2020' badging.

Samsung has collaborated with NTT Docomo for this handset, and it may remain exclusive to the Japanese market.

    Pricing and availability

The handset is currently available for booking

The pre-orders for the Galaxy S20+ Olympic Games edition have already started in Japan, and those interested can book the handset on NTT Docomo's official website.

The price of the handset hasn't been revealed yet and the deliveries will commence sometime around June.

However, a tip-off claims that it will cost 114,840 yen (roughly Rs. 78,400).

    Design and display

    Meanwhile, here's recalling the S20+

The Galaxy S20+ comes with a center-aligned punch-hole design with rounded edges, ultra-fine bezels, glass-metal construction, and is IP68-rated.

The handset sports a 6.7-inch, Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display which offers QHD (1440x3200 pixels) resolution, HDR10 support, and a high refresh rate of 120Hz.

For secure biometric authentication, it features an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

    Information

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

The S20+ comes with a quad-lens rear camera including a 12MP main sensor, 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a DepthVision camera. The setup supports 8K video recording at 24fps. On the front, there is a 10MP selfie snapper.

    Internals

    Under the hood

The S20+ is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chipset (depending on the region), coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.

The handset packs a 4,500mAh battery which supports 25W wired fast-charging, 15W wireless charging, and 9W reverse wireless charging.

It runs on Android 10-based One UI 2 and supports all the latest connectivity options.
