Samsung Note 9 will be drastically different from Note 8
A few days from now, Samsung will unveil its latest phablet series smartphone, Galaxy Note 9, on August 9 at the company's 'Unpacked' event in New York. And as per the official teasers, Note 9 promises three major upgrades over its predecessor in terms of processing power, battery life, and storage. Here's what to expect from Galaxy Note 9.
Note 9 could feature a Snapdragon 845 Processor
The first teaser shows a smartphone that fails to perform regular tasks like downloading and opening up a pdf document for review. The teaser ends saying "Phone too slow?" Clearly, this hints at Note 9's processing power and performance. And while Note 8 came with Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895, we expect 2018's flagship processor - the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845/Samsung Exynos 9810 to power Note 9.
Note 9 may offer up to 512GB of inbuilt storage
The second teaser hints at Note 9's bigger storage capacity. The video mocks at how people have to delete photos, videos and even apps to free up space on their smartphones. And most of the times, even all that isn't enough. This suggests Note could offer up to 512GB of inbuilt storage. For comparison, Note 8 came with 64GB (US ariant) and 128GB/256GB (international).

Note 9 is said to pack a 4,000mAh battery
The third and final teaser highlights its battery performance. The video shows how we battle with battery-related issues in our daily lives and that it won't be an issue with the Note 9. According to reports, Note 9 is said to sport a 4,000mAh battery - significant upgrade over the 3,300mAh battery in the Note 8.
Note 9 could sport Galaxy S9+ variable aperture-based camera setup
The Note 9 is likely to get 12MP+12MP dual rear-camera setup with variable aperture - something we saw on the Samsung Galaxy S9+. In comparison, the Note 8 had a dual rear-camera setup with a 12MP f/1.7 wide-angle sensor and a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto sensor. However, up front Note 9 may have an 8MP camera - just like its predecessor.
S Pen to get smarter, will match Note 9's color
The S Pen will reportedly get Bluetooth support and this will allow the stylus to be used to capture photos, control music, remotely unlock the device, among other single-click and long-press customizable functions. Notably, the S Pen's color will match its respective Note 9's body.
