Samsung Galaxy M40 launched in India at Rs. 19,990
As the latest addition to its India-centric Galaxy M-series of phones, Samsung has launched the Galaxy M40 in the country today. The online-exclusive device comes with an Infinity-O display, triple rear cameras, sound-on-screen technology, and mid-level internals including a Snapdragon 675 chipset. It is priced at Rs. 19,990 and will go on sale starting June 18. Here's our roundup.
Samsung Galaxy M40: At a glance
The Galaxy M40 sports a punch-hole design offering a near bezel-less display and curved back panel that features a dual-tone gradient design. Further, there's a 6.3-inch Infinity-O display with a full-HD+ resolution, Widevine L1 certification, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone also debuts a segment-first "screen sound" technology that enables the screen to produce audio vibrations, eliminating the need for a dedicated earpiece.

The Galaxy M40 comes with a triple rear camera setup comprising a 32MP (f/1.7) primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 123-degree field-of-view, and another 5MP lens for capturing depth details. The main camera offers features such as 4K recording, Slo-mo, Hyperlapse and other AI-based photography modes. For selfies, there is a 16MP (f/2.0) sensor housed in the display cut-out.

The Galaxy M40 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, paired with Adreno 612 GPU, 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable upto 512GB). Under the hood, the phone runs on Android Pie-based One UI and packs a 3,500mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. Lastly, Samsung is providing Type-C earphones in the box as it makes up for the missing headphone jack.
Pricing, availability, and launch offers
Samsung Galaxy M40 costs Rs. 19,990 and it will go on sale starting June 18 via Amazon and Samsung India e-store. As part of launch offers, Jio users will get double data benefits on prepaid plans of Rs. 198 and Rs. 299. Further, Vodafone-Idea subscribers will get a cashback of Rs. 3,750 while Airtel users will get 100% additional data for 10 months.
