Samsung Galaxy M-series smartphones to debut Infinity-V displays
In a bid to revamp its mid-range portfolio, Samsung is working to launch upto four smartphones in its brand new Galaxy M-series, according to reports. The phones, set to make a global debut in India in January 2019, are expected to sport Infinity-V Displays - one of the new screen designs that Samsung had unveiled back in November. Here's everything we know so far.
Galaxy M-series expected to have four or five smartphone models
Samsung Galaxy M-series of smartphones is said to come with up to four smartphones. According to news agency IANS, these phones will be called Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, Galaxy M30, and Galaxy M40. However, some reports suggest they may be called Galaxy M1, Galaxy M2, Galaxy M3, and M4. Interestingly, a premium Galaxy M50 or M5 is also in the works.
Galaxy M-series phones to feature larger displays, bigger batteries
According to IANS, the Galaxy M-series phones could feature upto 6.4-inch screens and will come with bigger batteries. The M10, M20, M30, and M40 are reported to get LCD screens whereas M50 is said to sport an AMOLED display. Moreover, the phones will be backed by bigger batteries with the Galaxy M20 tipped to pack a massive 5,000mAh battery.
Meanwhile's here's a look at Samsung's Infinity-V display?
As part of the new designs, Samsung had showcased Infinity-U, Infinity-O, Infinity-V, and New Infinity displays. And while we have already seen Infinity-O design on the Galaxy A8s, the upcoming M-series is said to debut the Infinity-V design. In this new design, the display will come with a V-shaped cut-out that will house the front camera to offer an increased screen-to-body ratio.
Recently, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 were spotted on Geekbench
Recently, Galaxy M20 with model number SM-M205F and Galaxy M30 with model number SM-M305F were spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench. The M20 will come with a 1080x2340 pixel screen, Exynos 7885 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage and Android Oreo. Likewise, M30 will also get Exynos 7885 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage and Android Oreo. These phones will also have dual-SIM and single-SIM variants.
