    What's the story

    Samsung Galaxy J8 smartphone, which was launched last month, is now available for purchase in India.

    Priced at Rs. 18,990, the phone comes only in a single configuration of 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage.

    Galaxy J8 can be purchased across several offline and online channels including Samsung India e-store, Flipkart, Amazon and Paytm.

    Design & Display

    At a glance

    The Samsung Galaxy J8 gets an edge-to-edge display with a slightly thicker top and bottom bezel compared to other 2018-launched smartphones.

    On the rear, the phone gets a metallic back which houses a dual-rear camera setup and a fingerprint sensor.

    It features a 6-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED 'Infinity display' with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and is offered in Black, Blue, and Gold colors.

    On the rear, the Galaxy J8 sports a dual-camera setup comprising a 16-megapixel, f/1.7 primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture.

    The rear camera offers Live Focus feature which allows you to adjust Bokeh effect after clicking a picture.

    Up front, the phone gets a 16-megapixel camera with an f/1.9 aperture, variable selfie flash, and supports facial recognition.

    The Galaxy J8 is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).

    The phone supports dual-SIM (Nano) cards, runs Samsung Experience on top of Android Oreo.

    Connectivity options on the Galaxy J8 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Galaxy J8 lets you chat, while watching videos

    The Galaxy J8 comes with 'Chat over Video' feature that lets you chat while watching videos without having to pause or re-size your video.

    The phone also gets Samsung Pay Mini, Samsung Mall and memory management features like delete duplicate images and saved APK files.

    Lastly, Samsung is also bringing in industry-first photography features like Background Blue shape, Portrait Dolly, Portrait Backdrop.
