Alongside the Note 10 series, Samsung has unveiled Galaxy Book S as the company's latest ultralight laptop. Unlike the more traditional Intel-powered machines, the Samsung notebook is backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx chipset. The Galaxy Book S, like other modern-day notebooks, offers a slim and lightweight profile. It has a thickness of just 11.6mm (when closed) and is some grams shy of 1 kg. However, it still manages to house a standard chiclet keyboard and a trackpad. With a 16:9 aspect ratio 13.3-inch full-HD display, the Galaxy Book S also supports 10-point multi-touch.

The Galaxy Book S is powered by a Snapdragon 8cx processor which is Qualcomm's 7-nanometer chip designed for PCs. According to Samsung, the new model should offer a 40% performance boost and 80% jump in graphics prowess, compared to the Galaxy Book 2 There's also 8GB RAM and upto 512GB of SSD storage that can be further expanded by upto 1TB via microSD card.
Battery life and connectivity options
The Galaxy Book S houses a 42Wh battery that promises 23 hours of video playback on a single charge. It also comes with AKG-tuned speakers, 720p HD camera, and a fingerprint reader for password-free login. As for connectivity, the laptop supports Gigabit LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and GPS. Lastly, it'll run on Windows 10 Home/Pro, depending on the region.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Book S price starts at $999 (roughly Rs. 71,000) and it will go on sale from September in the US. As for India availability, there's no official information available as of now.
