Samsung Galaxy A90 key details leaked, Galaxy A40 also confirmed
As the latest additions to its Galaxy A series, Samsung is working to launch the Galaxy A90 and A40 smartphones. According to @OnLeaks, the Galaxy A90 will come with a first-of-its-kind sliding and rotating camera mechanism and not with a pop-up selfie camera as suggested before. Separately, Galaxy A40's support page has gone live on the company's German website. Here are the finer details.
Samsung Galaxy A90 will offer a notch-less screen
Recently, @IceUniverse revealed that Galaxy A90 will be "Samsung's first pop-up front camera phone". However, @OnLeaks has claimed that the camera module will be a rotatable slider. But that conflict aside, both designs suggest that the front camera will not be contained in a display notch or punch-hole. Hence, Galaxy A90 should offer a bezel-less, all-screen look which Samsung calls New Infinity display design.
Galaxy A90's camera module sounds very interesting
@OnLeaks claims that A90's camera module will come "with a sliding and rotating camera system (kinda mix between Oppo Find X and Oppo N1 systems)". This means the phone will have no rear camera as such. Instead, Samsung will house a rotatable camera in a slider mechanism, allowing it to be used as a front and rear camera based on the position of lenses.
Galaxy A90 will also house an in-screen fingerprint sensor
Separately, in January, South Korea-based ETNews had claimed that Samsung is working to offer an optical in-display fingerprint sensor on several of its high-end Galaxy A-series smartphones lined up for 2019 release. The publication reported that Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A90 will feature this new technology. Interestingly, Samsung has just released its Galaxy A50 and it does come with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
What else to expect from Galaxy A90?
According to previous leaks, the Galaxy A90 is likely to sport a 6.41-inch AMOLED display. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Moreover, the phone will also run Android Pie-based One UI out-of-the-box - similar to Samsung's latest Galaxy A-series and S-series handsets.
Meanwhile, Galaxy A40 is also in the works
A support page for Galaxy A40 has been spotted on Samsung's German website, hinting at its imminent launch in Germany and other European countries. As per leaks, the phone will come with an Exynos 7885 chipset, 4GB of RAM and Android Pie-based One UI support. Lastly, MySmartPrice has claimed that the Galaxy A40 will be priced at EUR 249 (approximately Rs. 20,000).
