This game-changing Samsung phone is launching in India soon
Expanding its line-up of Galaxy A smartphones in India, Samsung is all set to release the Galaxy A80 soon. The phone has been listed on the company's India website, hinting at an imminent launch in the country. Notably, this is Samsung's first smartphone to feature an all-screen design and a game-changing rotating camera. Here's all about it.
Samsung Galaxy A80: At a glance
The Samsung Galaxy A80 debuts the New Infinity Display design to offer an all-screen look. If you are wondering about the front-facing camera, well, there isn't one. However, the novel rear camera setup automatically rotates and flips to capture selfies. Further, the smartphone offers a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The world's first rotating triple camera
The Galaxy A80 is touted to offer the world's first rotating triple camera. The setup comprises a 48MP (f/2.0) main lens, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a Time-of-flight sensor. Given the fact this setup serves as a front-facing camera, it has a game-changing potential when it comes to clicking selfies or vlogging thanks to 4K recording support at 30fps and Live focus in videos.
Under the hood
The Samsung Galaxy A80 is powered by a Snapdragon 730G chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Under the hood, it packs a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast-charging support and runs Android Pie-based One UI. The phone also offers all standard sensors and connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type-C port while missing out on a headphone jack.
Pricing and availability
Reportedly, Samsung will launch the Galaxy A80 in India on June 15. And while we may not have a formal release date yet, the phone will surely go official in the coming days. As for pricing, the company had informed in April that the phone will arrive in the premium segment and will cost somewhere around Rs. 45,000-50,000.
