Amazon-exclusive Samsung Galaxy A8 Star will launch at Rs. 34,990
Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A8 Star, which was recently teased by Amazon, is expected to soon launch in India. Earlier, Amazon had teased that the phone will be "Available at Rs. 3X,XXX", and now a report claims the Galaxy A8 Star will be priced at Rs. 34,990. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star: At a glance
As a global variant, the A8 Star will have identical specs and design to the A9 Star. Hence, the A8 Star will sport an edge-to-edge display with slim bezels, a metallic frame, a dual rear-camera setup, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is likely to feature a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2220p) AMOLED Infinity display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and 80% screen-to-body ratio.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star will sport a dual rear camera setup comprising a 16-megapixel (f/1.7) primary sensor, paired with a 24-megapixel (f/1.7) secondary sensor and an LED flash module. On the front, the phone will get a 24-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
Under the hood
The Galaxy A8 Star will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which will be expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. The phone will run Android Oreo 8.0-based Samsung Experience 9.0 UX and will pack a 3,700mAh battery.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard the phone
In terms of connectivity options, the Galaxy A8 Star gets 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, FM radio, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also gets ANT+ making it compatible with Bluetooth equipped health devices. In terms of onboard sensors, it gets a standard array of sensors including proximity and ambient light sensors.
