Samsung launches 5G versions of Galaxy A71 and A51 smartphones
Samsung has officially launched the 5G versions of its mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51. Both handsets share the same design and specifications as their LTE counterparts, albeit with a 5G-ready Exynos 980 chipset. However, there is no word on the availability of these smartphones in India as of now. Here are more details.
A look at both the smartphones
Both Galaxy A71 5G and A51 5G feature an edge-to-edge screen with a small display cut-out at the top-center, and a noticeable bottom bezel. The former sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a Full-HD+ resolution, while the latter has a smaller 6.5-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display. Further, these smartphones have an in-display fingerprint scanner for secure biometric authentication.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Galaxy A71 5G houses a quad-lens rear camera setup comprising a 64MP (f/1.8) main sensor, paired with a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a couple of 5MP (f/2.4) lenses for macro photography and depth sensing. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A51 5G sports a similar setup but with a 48MP (f/2.0) primary lens. On the front, both the handsets house a 32MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood
The Galaxy A71 5G and Galaxy A51 5G draw power from an in-house Exynos 980 processor, coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Both handsets run on Android 10-based One UI 2.0 and pack a solid 4,500mAh battery with 25W (15W on Galaxy A51 5G) fast-charging support. They both support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VoLTE, Type-C port, and sport a headphone jack.
And, what's the pocket-pinch?
As far as pricing is concerned, the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G costs $600 (approximately Rs. 45,500), while the Galaxy A51 5G is priced at $500 (approximately Rs. 38,000). The handsets are available for purchase in the US market. However, there is no word on the availability of these phones in India at present.
