Samsung Galaxy A6, A6+ go official, price and specs leaked
Samsung is all set to launch its Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ smartphones. Samsung Indonesia's official website now has a Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ landing page which not only gives away key specs of these smartphones but also hints at their imminent launch in the coming days. Moreover, a separate set of leaks have revealed the pricing details of these smartphones. Here's more.
At a glance
Samsung is offering its Super AMOLED Infinity Displays on both the A6 variants. The Galaxy A6 will feature a 5.6-inch HD+ (720x1480 pixels) panel, while the A6+ variant will bear a larger 6.0-inch full-HD+ (1080x2220 pixels) display. Notably, both the variants will have an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy A6+ measures 160.1x75.7x7.9mm while the Galaxy A6 comes at 149.9x70.9x7.7mm.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
In terms of optics, the A6 sports a 16MP, f/1.7 rear camera and a 16MP, f/1.9 selfie shooter. However, the A6+ gets a dual rear camera setup with 16MP, f/1.7 primary sensor and a secondary 5MP, f/1.9 sensor. On the front, the A6+ gets a 24MP, f/1.9 sensor with support for Live Focus and Bokeh Effect. Notably, both phones offer screen-flash with LED assistance.
Under the hood
In terms of internals, the Galaxy A6 is expected to get an octa-core 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 SoC processor with 3GB RAM while the A6+ may get an octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 SoC processor paired with 4GB RAM. The inbuilt storage is limited to 32GB on both the models. Moreover, the A6 packs a 3,000mAh battery while the Galaxy A6+ gets a larger 3,500mAh unit.
Both phones get Bixby support
Samsung has offered Bixby - its native smart personal assistant - on both the Galaxy A6 and A6+ variants. Bixby can perform a host of functions such as remembering your appointments, finding the information you need, and accessing helpful apps and content.
Pricing: Courtesy leaks and reports
According to a set of leaks and reports, pricing details of both the handsets have been revealed. It is expected that the Galaxy A6 will be priced anywhere between EUR 300-340 (roughly Rs. 24,100 - 27,300) while the Galaxy A6+ will cost somewhere around EUR 360-400 (roughly Rs. 28,900 - 32,100).
