Samsung has introduced a new mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A53 5G, in the Indian market. It carries a starting price-tag of Rs. 34,499 and is currently available for pre-orders via the company's website. Talking about the key highlights of the phone, it has a 120Hz screen, a water resistant build quality, four cameras on the back, 5G connectivity, and a 5,000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G was announced globally last week alongside the A33 and A73 models. Apart from the key highlights mentioned before, it supports the Samsung Knox security and an "Alt Z" function that hides the user's private content with a single button. At around the Rs. 35,000 price-point, the handset will rival mid-rangers from brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, and OnePlus.
It has a 120Hz Super AMOLED display
The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has slim bezels, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole cut-out on the front. The rear section gets a rectangular quad camera unit. The phone also boasts an IP67 dust and water resistance. It flaunts a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The main camera supports OIS
The Galaxy A53 5G has a quad camera island at the back, which includes a 64MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro shooter. Up front, the device packs a 32MP selfie camera.
The handset supports 25W wired fast-charging
The Galaxy A53 5G is fueled by a 5nm Exynos 1280 processor and runs on Android 12-based One UI 4.1. The device comes in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variants with expandable storage of up to 1TB via a microSD card. Under the hood, there is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W wired fast-charging via the Type-C port.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G costs Rs. 34,499 for the 6GB/128GB model and Rs. 35,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. It comes in shades of Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Peach, and Awesome White. The pre-orders for the handset are currently live and it will become available for purchase from March 25 onward via Samsung's e-store, authorized retail outlets, and partner online sales channels.
