Samsung Galaxy A31 spotted on Geekbench, key specifications revealed
As an addition to its budget-friendly Galaxy A series of smartphones, South Korean tech giant Samsung is working to launch the Galaxy A31 in India soon. In the latest update, the phone has been spotted on benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing key details about its internal hardware. Separately, previous leaks have suggested that it may offer a 48MP triple camera and a solid 5,000mAh battery.
First, a bit about Geekbench and its scores
Geekbench is a cross-platform processor benchmark platform which grades processors on their single-core and multi-core performances. While calculating multi-core scores, Geekbench runs multiple streams of instructions simultaneously per core and reports an aggregate score. With single-core scores, the same process is applied but on a single core. The quicker a CPU completes the instructions, the higher is its Geekbench score.
What are A31's scores?
The Galaxy A31 is listed on Geekbench with model number- SM-A315F. The listing, with an upload date of March 4, reveals that the handset has received a single-core score of 349 and a multi-core score of 1,291.
How will it look like?
It is yet to be revealed if the upcoming Galaxy A31 will retain the waterdrop notched design of the Galaxy A30s/A30 models or get a different design. However, quite like the Galaxy A30 smartphones, we expect the upcoming handset to offer an AMOLED screen and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure biometric authentication.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Samsung Galaxy A31 will reportedly offer a triple rear camera setup comprising a mighty 48MP primary sensor, a 5MP lens for macro photography, and another sensor, presumably a portrait lens. Up front, the phone would house a 25MP front-facing snapper.
And, what about internal specifications?
The Galaxy A31 is likely to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P65 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it will run Android 10-based One UI 2.0 and pack a solid 5,000mAh battery. Moreover, the phone will come with support for latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and a Type-C port.
