What's the story

As a successor to last year's Chromebook Plus, Samsung has launched the Chromebook Plus v2 in the US. The 2-in-1 convertible laptop comes with Chrome OS, a built-in pen/stylus and sports a modern-looking sleek and slim design profile. The device will be up for grabs in the US starting June 24, at a starting price of $499.99 (approx. Rs. 34,000). Here's more.

Samsung Chromebook Plus V2: At a glance

The convertible laptop features a 12.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) touchscreen display with a peak brightness of 300 nits. It is powered by an Intel Celeron 3865Y processor and Intel HD 615 graphics card, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage (supports microSD for additional storage). The laptop runs Chrome OS out-of-the-box and has a 39Wh battery rated to last 8-hours.

The sec-gen Chromebook Plus gets a 13-MP rear camera

As an upgrade over its previous version, the Chromebook Plus v2 gets a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and autofocus. On the front, the laptop-cum-tablet sports a 1-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. The laptop also gets two USB Type-C ports, one USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack and two 1.5W stereo speakers.
