Samsung launches new truly wireless earbuds (not in India)
As part of its premium audio products brand called AKG, Samsung has launched a pair of new truly wireless earbuds. Dubbed as N400, the earbuds take on Apple's flagship AirPods Pro with features like Active Noise Cancellation, a water-resistant design, and 6 hours of battery life on a single run. However, for now, they are available only in South Korea.
AKG N400: At a glance
The AKG N400 looks pretty similar to Samsung's newly-launched Galaxy Buds+ with a compact and lightweight form-factor, reliable ear design featuring swappable silicon/foam ear tips, and touch controls for controlling music, answering calls, or activating the voice assistant. These earbuds also boast of an IPX7 rating, meaning they can last up to 30 minutes under 1m of water (not swim proof).
The earbuds support dual-mic ANC
Like AirPods Pro, the N400 supports Active Noise Cancellation, by using the dual microphones to remove external noise. It also offers Ambient Aware feature that allows you to control the level of noise cancellation, and a TalkThru function that blocks ambient sounds for improved calling.
It offers up to 6 hours of battery life
In normal mode, the AKG N400 provides 6 hours of playtime on a single charge. However, with ANC enabled, the battery life drops to 5 hours. The carry-cum-charging case holds another 6 hours of juice and it supports wireless charging as well. Meanwhile, for a quick top-up, keeping the earbuds in the case for 10 minutes gives you around an hour of playtime.
Pricing and availability
The AKG N400 is currently listed on Samsung's Korean website at KRW 2,30,000 ($190 or Rs. 15,000). The earbuds come in Black, Silver, and a dual-tone Navy shade that has some gold-colored accents.
