Learnflix, an affordable app to help kids learn during lockdown
The lockdown enforced by the Indian government has hit several sectors of the economy. People are having a hard time, but their kids are certainly not complaining, sitting away from daily schooling. Now, to tackle this problem and make sure kids keep learning throughout this lockdown, publishing powerhouse S. Chand has launched a new personal education platform called Learnflix. Here's all about it.
Learning platform for students between classes 6 to 10
Launched last week, Learnflix is a smartphone app that gives kids between classes 6 to 10 a way to take Science and Maths lessons from the comfort of their home. The service packs chapters in accordance with the syllabus laid down by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) but can also be used by students of other state boards.
A lot of content for comprehensive learning
In order to help kids learn easily, Learnflix follows the approach of visual teaching and offers engaging animated videos for all Science and Math chapters. Also, once the learning part is done, the students can use the revision notes and summaries bundled with the chapters to go through the concepts again and take part in quizzes, subjective/objective tests to check how much they've understood.
Unlimited practice tests on offer
Along with this, your kid also gets access to unlimited practice tests to check their skills and understanding of different concepts. The results from the tests would appear in the form of in-depth analysis, showcasing the student's weak spots and chapters they need to focus on in the near future. Notably, there are also some sample papers for different subjects.
eBooks from popular educational authors also available
The S. Chand Group is also providing eBooks from renowned authors like Lakhmir Singh, Manjit Kaur, and PS Verma through the Learnflix app. These books can be downloaded and accessed even without the internet.
Prices start at Rs. 1,999 for one year
You can download the Learnflix app for free, but will have to pay an annual fee for accessing its content. The subscription price for study material for classes 6 to 8 has been kept at Rs. 1,999 per year, while those for classes 9 and 10 comes at Rs. 2,499. This is far cheaper than the offerings of Byju's and other ed-tech players.
