Reliance Jio offers free 10 GB data to select subscribers
Indian telecom service provider Reliance Jio has introduced a free 10 GB data add-on pack for select subscribers. The data add-on pack is a move to stay competitive in the market and reportedly comes as a token of appreciation to the subscribers using the company's JioTV application. Earlier, some reports claimed that the free additional data is being provided on the occasion of Holi.
Only Jio can choose who gets to avail the offer
Since the add-on pack is an automated offering, there is no telling who gets it and who doesn't. Reliance Jio subscribers cannot activate this additional data by the calling customer care network or visiting the company's physical store. However, some users have reported that they were able to avail the data pack by calling 1299 toll-free.
10GB data will get activated after crossing daily FUP limit
In case a user did receive the additional data, it will only be activated once he crosses the daily FUP limit. For example, if a subscriber avails the Rs 149 data plan with a daily data of 1.5 GB, then only after that free usage limit gets over will Reliance Jio activate the additional 10 GB data plan.
The additional data plan will expire on March 27
You can check if you are among the lucky ones to receive the add-on data pack by heading on to the MyJio app and going under the 'Current Plan' section. Notably, the 10 GB data plan will expire on March 27, 2018. Currently, Reliance Jio claims to offer 20% more data than its competition like Airtel and Vodafone.
