Jio is all set to change fixed-line service: Details here
Reliance Jio has upgraded its Jio4GVoice app to JioCall to mark the arrival of Rich Communication Services in India. It will also bring support for Jio fixed-line service that allows you to make video calls from your fixed-line using a smartphone. Moreover, the JioCall app will continue to offer all the features that were present in Jio4GVoice app. Here's all about it.
Now make video calls from your fixed-line number
The app brings support for video calls from your fixed-line number. For this, you will have to configure your 10 digit Jio fixed-line number on the JioCall app and by choosing Fixed Profile on the app, you'll be able to make or receive calls from your fixed-line number using your smartphone. Notably, Jio fixed-line service is expected to be rolled out along with JioGigaFiber.
Rich Communication Services with JioCall app
JioCall also marks the entry of RCS in India, bringing features such as SMS, Group Chat, file share, location share, doodles, stickers, and others under one roof. RCS also brings Rich Call feature which allows customized messaging, images and location on the receiver's screen. There is also an In-Call Share feature which lets you chat, share images and even doodle while being on call.
Jio SIM required for RCS benefits
To be able to enjoy the features of RCS, you will require an active Jio SIM and a specific mobile profile needs to be configured. Further, your contacts should also have RCS enabled to be able to experience all the features.
What else do you get with JioCall?
JioCall will continue to offer all the features that were available earlier with Jio4GVoice app. Hence, you will be able to make VoLTE high-definition voice and video calls on your existing 2G, 3G, 4G smartphone. You can also use your non-VoLTE 4G smartphone to make HD voice and video calls to any number in the world by connecting the phone to a JioFi device.
