Redmi Note 9 series feature roundup: An inexpensive all-rounder?
Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 9 series of smartphones in India on March 12. The new models will arrive as an upgrade to the Redmi Note 8 line-up that went official last year. So far, several leaks and teasers have suggested that both handsets will feature a quad rear camera setup, a gaming-friendly display, and a new Snapdragon 720G processor.
How they will look like?
According to an Amazon teaser, the Redmi Note 9 series will feature a premium glass body. However, it's unclear if the handsets will retain the notched design of their predecessors or sport an all-screen look. The phones will offer an 'immersive gaming experience', meaning we can expect them to offer a bezel-less screen with a high (presumably 90Hz) refresh rate.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
On the back, the Redmi Note 9 series phones will come with a square-ish module that will accommodate quad cameras. However, the details of the camera sensors are not known as of now. For those unaware, the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Note 8 models offer a quad-lens rear camera setup with 64MP and 48MP main sensors, respectively.
Under the hood
The Redmi Note 9 series will come with powerful processors to support heavy-duty gaming, with the Pro model expected to get a new Snapdragon 720G chipset. As far as memory options are concerned, the handsets will offer up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Furthermore, both phones are likely to pack powerful batteries with up to 30W fast charging support.
And, what about pricing and availability?
Xiaomi will announce the official details about the Redmi Note 9 series phones on March 12. However, we expect the handsets to be priced around Rs. 15,000. As for availability, the smartphones are likely to be sold via Amazon and Mi.com.
