    What's the story

    As part of its all-new Redmi sub-brand, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro in India today.

    Right off the bat, both the phones look extremely similar with a notched display, all-glass body and gradient design. However, as the name suggests, the Pro model is internally different from the regular model.

    Here's a specifications-wise comparison of the two.

    Design & Display

    Redmi Note 7 Pro v/s Note 7: At a glance

    In terms of design, both the phones are nearly identical with a "Dot notch" display, sizeable bottom bezel, dual rear cameras, glass chassis, and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The only noticeable difference is the gradient design on the Pro.

    Further, in terms of display, both models feature a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides.

    Camera

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a dual rear-camera setup with a 48MP (f/1.79) Sony IMX586 sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. Up front, it has a 13MP selfie camera.

    In comparison, the Redmi Note 7 gets a 12MP+2MP dual rear camera setup and a 13MP front camera.

    Notably, both the phones also offer several AI-based photography features such as Portrait Mode and Scene Detection.

    Under the hood

    The Pro model is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset, paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of internal storage (expandable upto 256GB).

    On the other hand, the regular Redmi Note 7 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of built-in storage (expandable upto 256GB).

    Battery, software and more

    Under the hood, both Redmi phones pack 4,000mAh batteries and support Quick Charge 4 via a USB Type-C port.

    Further, both the models run Android Pie-based MIUI 10 out-of-the-box.

    Lastly, the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro also come with standard sensors and connectivity options including dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, Infrared and a headphone jack, among others.

    Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro: Pricing and availability

    Redmi Note 7 Pro costs Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB/64GB model and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant.

    The Redmi Note 7 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB/32GB version and Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB/64GB model.

    As for availability, the Pro model will go on sale starting March 13 while the Redmi Note 7 will be available in India starting March 6.
