Redmi Note 7 Pro v/s Note 7: The key differences
As a souped-up variant of Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi is working to introduce Redmi Note 7 Pro in India soon. According to a tip-off, Xiaomi will launch both the Pro and regular variants of Note 7 on February 28 itself. Pro model to retain the design of Redmi Note 7
According to the renders, Redmi Note 7 Pro will retain the design of Redmi Note 7 to feature a waterdrop notched screen, gradient design, dual rear-camera setup, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Moreover, TENAA listing suggests that the Pro variant will feature the 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection - same as the Redmi Note 7.
Redmi Note 7 Pro will feature 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor
As per the official teaser shared by Redmi President Lu Weibing, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will feature a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and another sensor for capturing depth information. In comparison, the regular Redmi Note 7 sports a 48MP (f/1.7) Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor, paired with a 5MP secondary sensor.
The Pro variant will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset
The official teaser also confirms that the upcoming Redmi Note 7 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset - an upgrade from the Snapdragon 660 processor on Redmi Note 7. Moreover, the Pro variant is also expected to offer upto 6GB RAM and upto 128GB of storage. Lastly, it is likely to house a 4,000mAh battery - same as the regular model.
Pricing and availability
According to rumors, the Redmi Note 7 Pro could be priced anywhere between CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs. 15,900) and CNY 2,000 (approx. Rs. 21,200). Further, the non-Pro model is expected to launch in India at around Rs. 15,000. To recall, Redmi Note 7 was launched in China last year at a starting price of CNY 999 (approx. Rs. 10,600) for the 3GB/32GB base model.
