Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro gets MIUI 10 update
What's the story
Xiaomi has started releasing the MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM update for the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India.
Reports suggest the update is about 580MB in size and has a build number MIUI 10.0.1.0.OEIMIFH.
However, not everyone will receive it just yet, given the update is being rolled out in a phased manner via OTA (Over-the-air) method.

MIUI 10 update brings gesture support, redesigned notification panel
The updated MIUI 10, based on Android Oreo 8.1, brings a host of new features and improvements.
According to its changelog, the update brings full-screen gestures, redesigned notification panel, a new Recent apps menu, natural and ambient sounds for alert tones and overall system optimizations.
Further, the MIUI 10 update also brings Google's Android Security Patch for the month of September.
Process
Here's how to install MIUI 10
The MIUI 10 is an OTA update, and hence not everyone will receive it at the same time.
However, you can check for the update by going to Settings -> About phone -> System updates -> Check for updates.
Alternatively, you can download the update through the Updater app.
Notably, flashing/sideload is not possible as Xiaomi is yet to provide Recovery and Fastboot ROMs.

In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a dual-camera setup featuring a 12-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture primary sensor and a 5-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture secondary sensor.
On the front, the smartphone gets a stunning 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor along with a LED selfie-light module.
Moreover, the MIUI 10 update will introduce AI-based Portrait mode and add the ability to record 1080p videos at 60fps.
