Redmi K50 series to be launched on February 16
Xiaomi-owned Redmi will launch its K50 series of smartphones in China on February 16, the company has announced on Weibo. The line-up will reportedly include K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro+, and K50 Gaming Edition models. An official teaser has revealed the design elements of the K50 Gaming Edition. It will feature a triple rear camera module with RGB lighting and mechanical gaming triggers.

The handsets will flaunt premium hardware, a vibrant design, and powerful processors. Redmi K50 Gaming Edition may sport an OLED display
The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is likely to feature a punch-hole design with rounded corners, and slim bezels. The rear section will sport a triple camera unit. It may bear a 6.67-inch OLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz or higher refresh rate. The dimensions of the K50 Gaming Edition will be 162x76.8x8.45mm. It will weigh around 210 grams.
A 16MP selfie camera is expected
The Redmi K50 Pro Gaming Edition will be equipped with a triple rear camera module comprising a 64MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth snapper. For selfies and video calls, a 16MP front-facing snapper is expected.
It will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip
The Redmi K50 Pro Gaming Edition will reportedly be fueled by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will boot Android 12 with the latest MIUI skin baked on top. The RAM and storage options are unclear as of now but it is rumored to pack a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support. For connectivity, it should offer support for 5G, Wi-Fi, and NFC.
Redmi K50 series: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the Redmi K50 series will be revealed at the time of launch on February 16. However, based on the specifications, the series may start at around CNY 2,100 (roughly Rs. 25,000).
