Redmi K40 to feature dual stereo speakers, flat display
Redmi is gearing up to introduce its K40 model soon. In the latest development, Lu Weibing, the company's General Manager, has confirmed via a Weibo post that the handset will offer dual stereo speakers, a flat display, powerful performance, and a good battery life. Earlier,Weibing had revealed that K40 will have the 'smallest display punch-hole in the world.' Here's our roundup.
Redmi K40: At a glance
The Redmi K40 will feature an edge-to-edge screen with a center-positioned punch-hole cut-out and an integrated fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it is expected to house a quad camera setup. The handset is likely to come with a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The K40 will reportedly house a quad rear camera setup comprising a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor along with an LED flash. Up front, it will house a single selfie snapper.

The Redmi K40 is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It is likely to run on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 and pack a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. For connectivity, it should offer support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port.
Pricing and availability
The Redmi K40 will reportedly go official in China later this month. Though the pricing details will be revealed at the time of launch, the handset is likely to cost around Rs. 25,000.
