Redmi K40 confirmed to be launched on February 25
Redmi will launch the K40 smartphone in China on February 25, the company has confirmed via a Weibo post. The K40 Pro, however, is expected to debut at a later date. As for the key highlights, the K40 is tipped to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, a 120Hz screen, a 4,500mAh battery, and quad rear cameras. Here's our roundup.
Redmi K40: At a glance
The Redmi K40 will feature a tiny punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint reader for secure authentication of biometric data. On the rear, it will house a quad camera setup. The handset is said to bear a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) LCD screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Redmi K40 will be equipped with a quad rear camera module, including a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro shooter. Up front, there will be a single selfie snapper but its details are currently unknown.

The Redmi K40 is expected to draw power from a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Under the hood, it will run on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 and pack a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. In terms of connectivity, the device should offer support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port.
What about the price?
The official pricing and availability details of the Redmi K40 will be announced at the launch event, on February 25. However, going by the rumored specifications, it may start at around CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 34,000).
